What is the Recreational Soccer Program?

The Recreational soccer program is an entry level program for any players in grades K-8 that want to learn more about the game of soccer. The program's focus is on FUN, skill development and confidence building in a less competitive environment than the Travel Soccer program.

What are the key dates and times for the program?

Registration for the Recreational soccer program starts on April 1st via the registration page on our website, until mid-June when school ends.

The program runs during the Fall for 7 weekends starting in September and ending in early November. Dates will be posted on our main page and also sent to registered families via email before the season starts.

Younger age groups are Saturday only but older groups have weekly practices on days selected by the coach and games on Saturdays.

How much does it cost?

Visit our Registration page for the fees

Where is the program run?

The Recreational Soccer Program is conducted at WIS and CMS soccer fields, weather permitting.

What gear do players need?

New players to the club are given an appropriately sized ball to help get them started.

Players are also required to purchase a uniform shirt which costs ~ $20 and can be purchased via our club store.

They will need to bring, cleats, shin guards, and a water bottle to each session. On colder days they may want to wear light gloves and base layers.

Who Coaches players in the Program?

Cromwell Chill uses all volunteer parent coaches for all teams within the club from 1st grade - 8th grade for both Travel and Recreational soccer. Coaches are reimbursed their kids registration fee at the end of the season after they complete all of the necessary background checks, concussion protocol & soccer coaches training (online & paid by club), and return all issued equipment.

The Club provides curriculum and informational clinics on various coaching topics to all as well as mentoring to help coaches get started.

Visit our Coaches page for more information on the training we provide and the resources available.
